According to one survey, almost two-thirds of all companies have some portion of their workforce working remotely. Almost half of all employees work from home occasionally. Having people work remotely reduces costs across the board, everything from phone, electricity, heating, furniture, insurance to maintenance costs.

At the top of the wish list for many workers today is having flexibility in their work life, the kind of flexibility that remote work offers. It is especially important to millennials.
4. Enhancing productivity
One concern employers have with remote work is a suspicion that employees are not working as hard at home as they would be at the office. Some managers feel they need to be physically present to keep an eye on their workers. But studies have shown that people are actually more productive at home than in the office.
There are several reasons for this. First, they don’t have to worry about interruptions from managers and coworkers. Remote workers don’t have to deal with the stress of a morning and evening commute. And they have a more comfortable working environment.
Research has shown that people are most engaged with their work when they can spend at least three to four days a week at home.
