2. Ask what the most pressing problems the company is having right now.

You will probably get an honest answer, and it will give you some insight into the operation of the company. If the problem is something in your area of expertise, you might be able to offer a solution right during the interview.

3. Ask them how you will be evaluated, how they will determine what a superior performance is.

This will give you some idea of what qualities you will need, aside from the purely technical, to do well in the job. It will tell you more than just what appears in the job description – the answer to this question will let you know what the business objectives of the company are.

4. Ask the interviewer why he or she applied to the company and why he stays.

This question gives you an opportunity to establish a rapport with the interviewer. Moreover, it will give you some idea about what is good about the company and what the company culture is like.
