You naturally want to perform your best at a job interview, appearing poised and confident. In order to do this, you need to be prepared. Preparation is key for any job interview. Here are some tips to help you get ready.

1.Research

One of the most important ways to prepare is to thoroughly research the company and the hiring manager.

This is pretty much common sense. You certainly aren’t going to make a very good impression at the interview if you don’t know anything about the company that you want to work for. To learn about the business, you should examine the annual report, the company website, and any news articles about the firm.

Also, try to find out what you can about the person who will be interviewing you. With social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn, this should not be too difficult. By doing this, you may discover interests or experiences that you have in common, and this may help you to make a connection with the person.

2. Rehearse

Take a look at some of the more popular questions that pop up during interviews because you’re likely to see them at your own. Think about how you would answer them. You don’t need to memorize a complete answer word for word, but you should have some idea of how you’re going to approach them.

You should also practice responding to questions so that you will be able to answer them confidently and smoothly during the interview. You can practice by yourself in front of a mirror, for example, or with a friend, who can give you questions.

Also, you should have questions prepared that you will have for the hiring manager.

3. Get your clothing ready

Usually, unless you are interviewing at some bohemian tech startup, it’s still a good idea to wear a suit and tie to the interview. You should lay out your clothing the night before to make sure you have everything you need and it’s ready to go. Make sure your shoes are shined.

4. Get a good night’s sleep

If you want to give your best performance, you need to be well rested. You need enough sleep to make sure your brain is functioning at its best

5. In the morning

Make sure you give yourself enough time to get ready in the morning and to arrive at your destination 10 to 15 minutes before the interview. You should know the route you’re going to take and have a good idea of how long the drive time will be.
