Many people use post-it notes for things like this, but without some framework for organizing them, they become useless, just scraps of paper littering your desktop. 2. Don’t multitask

At one time, this used to be a big thing. But it really doesn’t help you get work done. The old saw that doing two things at once means you are really doing neither applies here. It reduces rather than enhances your efficiency.

Doing more than one thing at a time affects your performance and the amount of time it takes to do the assignment. You need to focus all of your attention on just one thing at a time.

3. Keep track of your time-on-task.

Write down all of your assignments and the length of time it takes to do them. This will also help you to better organize your work. You will know better how long it takes you to do certain types of tasks and how much you will be able to finish during a certain time.

4. Your information should be easily available

Having your work organized isn’t much use to you if you cannot easily get to it. Using a whiteboard is helpful, but you cannot take it with you. This is where technology can be a big help. It enables you to have access to your work and your plans on different types of mobile devices. Using cloud computing also helps with mobility.
