For some people, preparing for a business trip means throwing some clothing into a suitcase. But to make your trip as enjoyable and hassle free as possible, there are certain things that you should take along. Here are a few.

Currency

If traveling internationally, it’s best to get some of the local currency before you leave so that you don’t find yourself short of money. Then, if you find yourself short of money, you may be forced to use the nearest currency exchange location and get currency at whatever rate is being offered, and find yourself getting shortchanged in the process.

Portable chargers

With a portable charger, you can charge your phone wherever and whenever you need to. And this way you don’t need to use an adapter or find an outlet.

Adapter

Even if you bring a portable charger, it is a good idea to bring an adapter as well. It will also come in handy if you use your laptop a lot.

Jacket or sweater

Whether you are going someplace cold or warm, it is always a good idea to pack a light jacket or sweater. You never know when you will be in an environment that is chilly, indoors or out.

Paper copies of your travel plans

This may seem superfluous since you probably have your plans stored in some electronic device. But it is always good to do as a precautionary measure. You just never know. There may be times when, for one reason or another, you cannot access your electronic devices.

Business cards

This should be standard operating procedure, even if you are going overseas. You should always have them ready to pass out. They will come in handy especially if you are travelling abroad because it will save you the trouble of having to write down your name and contact information or having to try and explain it to a person who does not speak English very well.

A pen and pad

Again, in the digital age, this may seem anachronistic. But, especially when travelling, if you need to jot a quick note, an address or telephone number, there is still nothing quicker and easier than pulling a pen from your pocket.

A flight kit

This will help to make your flight a little more bearable. You should include things like a sleeping mask, socks or slippers, ear plugs or headphones, a good pillow that supports your neck, and some good reading material.
